LSU sets SEC Tournament scoring record in win over Florida

GREENVILLE, S.C. – No. 3 seed LSU (28-4) set a program scoring record in a SEC Tournament game with a 101-87 win over No. 11 seed Florida (16-17) in the quarterfinals of the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament Friday night.

The Tigers broke the record for most points scored in a SEC Tournament game by an LSU team with their excellent offensive performance. The previous record was 99 points in 1997 against Tennessee.
First Team All-SEC Aneesah Morrow was relentless with 36 points, a program record in the SEC Tournament, on 15-21 shooting to go with 14 rebounds for her 27th double-double this season and 101st of her career. First Team All-SEC Mikaylah Williams scored 16 points and had eight assists.
The Gators’ leading scorer was Liv McGill, who finished with 16 points and six assists.
The Tigers will return to the court on Saturday at the conclusion of the first semifinal to take on the No. 2 seed Texas Longhorns. The game is scheduled to be played at 6 p.m. CT and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
