At 6-foot-6, 242 pounds, Pimpton was more of a pass catcher than a traditional blocking tight end. In his two seasons at LSU, he caught just seven passes for 80 yards. He was playing behind Mason Taylor, who set LSU career records for receptions and receiving yards for a tight end.
Pimpton will have two seasons remaining at his next destination.
As a recruit, Pimpton was a four-star who ranked No. 146 nationally in the On3 Composite and was the ninth best tight end. The Tigers signed four tight ends in the 2023 class and they have all now left the program. Jackson McGohan, Mac Markway and Connor Gilbreath all left after one season in Baton Rouge.
Freshman tight end Trey’Dez Green moved to wide receiver, while the Tigers singed JD LeFleuer in the 2025 class.
Tight end will be a major target for LSU in the Transfer Portal cycle.
