Taylor leaves LSU as the program’s most profilic pass-catching tight end. His 129 career receptions and 1,308 receiving yards are both program records for the position. In 2024, Taylor was fourth on the team with 55 receptions and 546 yards.
His two-point conversion in overtime as a freshman against Alabama in 2022 is recognized as one of the greatest moments in Tiger Stadium history. He earned Freshman All SEC honors that season.
ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper ranks Taylor as the third-best tight end in this year’s draft, behind Tyler Warren of Penn State and Colston Loveland of Michigan.
LSU is set to return Ka’Morreun Pimpton at tight end in 2025. Freshman Trey’Dez Green moved to receiver during the 2024 season. The Tigers also added JD LeFleuer–son of former LSU All American tight end David LeFleur–in the 2025 signing class. Due to depth concerns, tight end will likely be a targeted position in the transfer portal.
Taylor is the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Taylor.
