Malachi Moore to sit out Reliaquest Bowl

Alabama fifth-year senior Malachi Moore will reportedly miss the Reliaquest Bowl against Michigan due to injury.

Kalen Deboer informed the media Wednesday that the defensive back was having surgery to fix a lingering injury he had most of the season. Moore becomes the first Alabama player to opt out of the bowl game that’s not in the transfer portal. Deboer spoke about the significance Moore had on this year’s team.

“I think the thing I want to make sure Bama fans know is that this guy has been rock solid and been a critical, critical piece, along with others, there are some others as well, of keeping this thing together since January,” DeBoer said. “When a lot of guys chose to leave, this guy stood firm. This guy loves Alabama football, he works relentlessly out there every single day on the football field.”

Moore finishes his career with 214 tackles, 25 pass breakups, 7 interceptions, and 64 games played.
