Mark Stoops, Kentucky prepared for NCAA revenue sharing

The NCAA’s long-anticipated revenue-sharing model will launch this summer, with each Power Four program set to receive $20.5 million. While the total pool will be distributed across all sports, how schools allocate funds is expected to vary by program.
Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops spoke candidly about how their staff and program is handling the planning going into the new era of college athletics. Stoops said that the negotiations for payments on his team have already been worked out in advance, so they can hit the ground running without distractions.
“We just worked off of what we knew we could do for here,” Stoops said to On3. “You know, I think all coaches would like to know and have our rosters pretty stable year to year, so that’s what we were able to do. We will adapt, we’re in position to operate on this year. We know the revenue share would kick in, you know, should the judge approve it, it would kick in July, but that’s all part of their contracts that we already negotiated with them.”
According to nil-ncaa.com the expectation for most athletic departments is for the football program to receive roughly 77% of the overall pool. That equates to nearly $14.8 million to be divided amongst the 105 man roster.
