Alabama needed a confidence boost after the last three games and thankfully for them, the Missouri Tigers served as one. Alabama dominated Missouri, 34-0, Saturday and kept their College Football Playoff hopes alive.
The offense seemed to be firing on (mostly) all cylinders again, and the Tide got arguably their most complete win of the season. The offense had double-digit plays of 20 yards or more, the defense forced three turnovers, and Graham Nicholson even went 2-for-2 on field goals with a long of 47-yards.
Alabama seemed to be spiraling since their win against Georgia, losing two of their last three with their only win coming by two points against three-loss South Carolina. Saturday was huge for Alabama, as they now head into a bye week before what is essentially an elimination game for them against LSU in Baton Rouge in two weeks.
The Tide finished with 486 total yards including 271 on the ground, the most rushing yards they’ve had since their season opener against Western Kentucky. Jalen Milroe finished 16-for-26 through the air with 265 yards and a rushing touchdown. Most importantly, for the first time in four games, he didn’t have a turnover.
Alabama has a bye week next weekend before traveling to Baton Rouge to play LSU while Missouri also heads into a bye week before hosting former Big 12 foe Oklahoma at home.
