Missouri joins growing trend of schools canceling spring game

By Chris Marler
Missouri will not hold a spring game in 2025 or 2026. The news came Monday morning from head coach Eli Drinkwitz during his pre-spring press conference.
Drinkwitz cited construction projects on their home stadium as the primary reason for the cancellation.
“Due to the Memorial Stadium Centennial Project construction impacts during each of the next two off seasons,” a news release from the program read, “Mizzou football will not be holding a Spring Game in 2025 or 2026.”
Missouri becomes the latest team to cancel their spring game and the second in the SEC. It’s become a growing trend across the country in college football. Last year only five power four teams cancelled their spring games. In the last month, we’ve seen Texas, Southern Cal, and Nebraska all cancel their spring games.
