Missouri quarterback Cook doubtful at Alabama

Brady Cook’s status for Saturday’s game against Alabama became a little clearer on Thursday morning as the Missouri quarterback was listed as doubtful.
According to the SEC injury report, by definition, “doubtful” means that Missouri feels he has less than a 25% chance to play in Saturday’s game.
Cook exited last week’s game early in the first quarter against Auburn with what was believed to be a high ankle sprain. Cook was able to come back late in the third quarter and lead the Tigers to two touchdowns en route to a come from behind victory.
A total of 14 Missouri players were on this week’s injury report including four other starters other than Cook that were listed as doubtful or questionable including running back Nate Noel, tight end Brett Norfleet, offensive lineman Cayden Green and wide receiver Mookie Cooper who caught two catches for a career high 84 yards against Auburn.
Cook has started 34 games in his career and has nearly 5,000 yards of total offense and 40 total touchdowns over the last two seasons. Backup quarterback, and Notre Dame transfer, Drew Pyne is expected to start in his place.
Pyne has played in four games this season completing over 67 percent of his passes for 206 yards. Against Auburn he was 10-for-21 for 78 yards through the air. Pyne has 12 career starts in college at Arizona State and Notre Dame going 8-4 in those games.
