Musso at the Box: LSU prepares for SEC opener

Musso at the Box, hosted by Matt Musso of 104.5 ESPN, recapped LSU’s 18-4 win over Xavier, marking the end of non-conference play with a 17-1 record. The Tigers now begin their 30-game SEC schedule, opening against Missouri on Friday.

LSU’s offense has performed well, hitting .346 as a team and drawing 117 walks. The pitching staff holds a 3.06 ERA, with key bullpen contributors including Cas Evans, Zac Cowan, and William Schmidt. Gavin Guidry is expected to return soon, adding depth to the relief corps.

Tanner Reaves has started at third base in recent games, and Luis Hernandez has taken over as the primary catcher. Head coach Jay Johnson continues to evaluate lineup and bullpen options as the team enters SEC play.
