Napier says Lagway ‘continues to improve’ in hamstring recovery

Florida hosts long-time cross divisional rival LSU this weekend, and the biggest thing on most people’s minds heading into the game is the health of quarterback DJ Lagway.
The freshman phenom injured his hamstring against Georgia and was carted off the field.
“DJ continues to improve,” said Florida head coach Billy Napier. “I think we’ve seen progress every day, and I think that’s allowed him to participate more in practice. Obviously, we’re kind of controlling that environment, but in general I think we continue to trend in the right direction.”
In eight games, Lagway has thrown for 1071 yards and six touchdowns. If he is unable to play, then freshman Aidan Warner, a transfer from Yale, will start in his place.
Warner started the Texas game at quarterback for the Gators and finished 12-of-25 for 132 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions.
