The nation’s number one overall player and OT Jackson Cantwell has made his announcement: he will be a Miami Hurricane for the class of 2026.

The 6-foot-8, 330 pound son of two former Olympians announced Tuesday that he’d be heading to Coral Gables to play for Mario Cristobal. Cantwell is from Nixa High School in Nixa, Missouri. He’s the consensus No. 1 player from the 247Sports Composite Rankings as well as On3’s rankings.

He becomes the second No. 1 overall player to commit to Miami in the last 40 years and the first to do so since LB/RB DJ Williams in 2000.

Miami’s sources told us at LouisianaSports.Net that the asking price tag to land Cantwell’s services was $2.5 million in his first year as a player. That price was thought to be a little too steep for a first year player for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs. He currently holds an NIL valuation of $1.5 million.
