Koval, a 6-foot-5 native of Ukraine, was a McDonald’s All-American from Long Island Lutheran High School in New York. ESPN ranked her the top prep post player in the 2024 class.
As a freshman at Notre Dame, Koval played in 32 games with 10 starts. She averaged 5.3 points and 4.7 rebounds. Her 55 blocked shots are the fourth most by an Irish freshman all time. She blocked four shots against Stephen F. Austin in the NCAA Tournament.
Koval came to the United States in 2021 with her family. She has three years of eligibility remaining.
