The College Football Playoff committee lies about data points. Politicians lie about everything, However, numbers never lie. Here are the numbers to know for college football’s Championship Week.
12: Total touchdowns for Carson Beck over the last three games.
0: Interceptions for Carson Beck over the last three games.
1: James Franklin’s total number of wins against Top 5 teams in 15 games.
7: Clemson has won seven of the last nine ACC Championship games.
25.7: Clemson won those seven games by an average of 25.7 ppg.
1: The winner of the ACC Championship game will have one win against a currently ranked opponent. It will be either team’s first all season.
128: Ashton Jeanty rushed for 128 yards against UNLV in their first meeting. That’s the lowest amount against an FBS opponent all season. His lowest all year was 127 against FCS Portland State.
.833: Arizona State is 10-2 this season against the spread for a winning percentage of .833. That’s the best of any team in the country.
.250: Georgia is 3-9 against the spread this season for a winning percentage of .250. That’s tied for second worst of any Power Four team in the country.
1: Matt Campbell and Iowa State are 1-12 in their last 13 games against Top 15 opponents. They will face No. 15 Arizona State on Saturday for the Big 12 Championship.
7.7: Teams who lost in the regular season against an opponent and faced them again in a conference championship have increased their scoring output by 7.7 ppg in their second meeting.
73.1: Tulane’s head coach Jon Summerall is 19-7 against the spread for a winning percentage of 73.1 percent in games in which he’s favored. The Green Wave are favored by 4.5-points against Army.
11: Dabo Swinney is covering by an average of 11 ppg in the 12 career games as an underdog on neutral field. He’s also 8-4 overall and 9-3 against the spread in those 12 games. The Tigers are a 2.5-point underdog to SMU in the ACC championship.
