Numbers to Know: SEC Week 8

Another football Saturday is almost here. Eight SEC games are on the docket, seven between league opponent and Vanderbilt hosting Ball State. All eyes are on Austin for Georgia and Texas, but the Battle for the Boot in Fayetteville and the Third Saturday in October figure to create some drama. Here are some Numbers to Know for all the action.
13: Total plays of over 20 yards for Oklahoma this season which ranks 133rd in the country
1: Total touchdown drives in their last 22 offensive drives for Oklahoma
17: Total penalties against Alabama last time they played in Knoxville. The 17 penalties for 130 total yards were both program highs under Nick Saban.
195.16: Jalen Milroe’s passer rating on third down this season which ranks fifth in the country
0: Offenses that Texas has faced this season ranked inside the Top 66 nationally in yards per game
3: Total second half touchdowns Georgia allowed to Mississippi State last weekend. They had allowed two total all season prior to last Saturday.
7.2: Penalties per game Georgia has averaged this season which is the most ever under Kirby Smart and just the second time in nine seasons they’ve ever even averaged over six per game.
52.8: 3rd down conversion percentage for Arkansas this season which leads the SEC and is eighth overall nationally
4-1: Sam Pittman’s record against the spread coming off a bye week
175: Total pounds the Golden Boot Trophy weighs
4: Consecutive games in this series where the winner was decided by three points
4: Garrett Nussmeier ranks in the Top 4 nationally in both pass attempts (249) and completions (160) so far this season
5: LSU hasn’t allowed a single sack in five of their six games this season. They’ve allowed two total all year, both to South Carolina, which is the fourth fewest of any team in America.
26.3: Rush attempts per game from LSU which is the fifth fewest in the country per game.
83: Eight of the 16 total SEC teams currently rank 83rd or worse in the country in total penalties
