Bowl Season is underway with 13 SEC teams playing in the postseason. Before toe meets leather for all the games let’s get to know some fun facts about the non-conference opponents from around the country they’ll be facing. 

Here’s everything you need to know about the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl between Oklahoma and Navy.

FUN FACTS & TRADITIONS 

Oklahoma 

1. They have a floor to ceiling tornado simulator on campus

2. Had a dog named Mex in charge of keeping strays off football field during games. He’s buried in the stadium

3. Oklahoma won their first national title in 1935, and most likely won’t win another in football for quite some time

 

Navy 

1. The Academy has one of the lowest student to teacher ratios at 8:1

2. Navy offers 26 different degree programs and has 35 sports

3. Its first classes were actually taught on ships as early as 1825. The current buildings on campus are made almost exclusively of Maine granite
