Pelicans shut down Zion Williamson, CJ McCollum for season

The New Orleans Pelicans announced Monday that forward Zion Williamson and guard CJ McCollum will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season due to injuries.

Williamson, who sustained a lower-back contusion on March 19, will sit out after playing just 30 games this season. He averaged 24.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists.
McCollum, out with a right foot contusion suffered March 23, appeared in 56 games and averaged 21.1 points.
The Pelicans have been plagued by injuries this season and sit 14th in the Western Conference.
