Perfect Game releases Preseason Top 25 for college baseball

By Chris Marler
The 2025 college baseball season kicks off Friday, Feb. 14. As the countdown to first pitch continues, the first official preseason Top 25 rankings have been released by Perfect Game.
Ten SEC teams are included in the initial Top 25, with five of the top seven teams overall. There were several surprises, including three SEC teams ranked ahead of defending national champion Tennessee.
Texas A&M holds the top spot, with LSU behind at No. 2. Georgia and Tennessee round out the top five, respectively. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the entire ranking is Texas holding the No. 7 spot. The Longhorns finished last season unranked but have generated significant preseason buzz after hiring former Texas A&M head coach Jim Schlossnagle.
