Rejzohn Wright Leaves Game With Foot Injury

Another day, another injury for the New Orleans Saints.
The team has had considerable health concerns in the cornerback room in particular this offseason, and those look to be continuing in the team’s preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.
Mid-way through the first quarter, cornerback Rejzohn Wright went to the injury tent with what looked to be a foot injury. After being evaluated, he went back to the locker room and has not yet returned to the sideline.
Wright has been an impressive performer throughout camp and has helped to generate some competition in the cornerback room behind the known commodities. He, Shemar Jean-Charles and Rico Payton have been at the top of that conversation.
Per Pro Football Focus, Wright has been targeted 10 times this preseason. On those targets he allowed just four catches and a 68.3 passer rating. He’s also added two pass breakups.
The defensive back had also taken a few slot snaps in those games, as well, though his primary focus has been on the outside. He has been active in the kick coverage game as well.
The Saints do still have a few corners they can turn to in Mac McCain and Joejuan Williams in addition to those mentioned previously. Safety Ugo Amadi can also help man the slot. But Wright will certainly do what he can to get back out on the field in order to compete for his possible roster spot and role.
