Collins played in one game as a freshman in 2023 and three games for the Tigers in 2024. However, when starter Garrett Nussmeier left due to injury against Florida and Oklahoma, transfer AJ Swann entered instead of Collins. Aside from Nussmeier and Swann, LSU also has freshman Colin Hurley on the roster. The Tigers do not have a quarterback committed for the 2025 class after No. 1 prospect Bryce Underwood recently flipped to Michigan.
For his career at LSU, Collins completed all seven of his attempts for 38 yards. He rushed seven times for 37 yards.
A product of Woodlawn High in Baton Rouge, Collins was a consensus four-star recruit in the class of 2023. He was ranked No. 234 overall in the On3 Composite and the 17th best quarterback.
Collins will have three years of eligibility remaining.
