Report: Saints held private workout with CB Korie Black

By Ross Jackson
The NFL Draft is one week away and the New Orleans Saints have done extensive work at a variety of positions. Quarterback has been the most nationally note-worthy, but the team has also done a lot of work at linebacker, as well.
Another position the Saints have focused on this offseason is cornerback. It makes sense, the team traded away former starter Marshon Lattimore last year and their other starter, Paulson Adebo, departed to the New York Giants in free agency.
The latest cornerback connection for this year’s draft is another underrated prospect from Oklahoma State. Per FOX Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz, New Orleans held a private workout with cornerback Korie Black.

Black stands at 6-foot and weighed in at 192 lbs at this year’s Big 12 pro day. He also tested remarkably well when getting the chance to showcase his athletic prowess in on-field drills and workouts.

He doesn’t get talked about as much, but I think Korie Black will have a great year. #GoPokes pic.twitter.com/58zarBbCts

Black, 22, played a lot more man coverage than typical NFL cornerbacks. He lined up for man matchups over 48% of the time in 2024. He was also often deployed to shadow an opposing team’s top wideout. That kind of experience makes the leap to the NFL a manageable one and could lead teams to take a swing on him in days two or three of the draft.
He finished 2024 with 36 combined tackles, three interceptions, and nine passes defended.
