NEW ORLEANS — The next phase of head coach candidate interviews for the New Orleans Saints continues on Saturday, per multiple reports.

Initially reported by Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer last week and confirmed by NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill on Saturday morning, the Saints are expected to interview Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore for their open head coaching position via a virtual interview on Saturday.

The virtual interview is required by the NFL as in-person interviews for candidates still employed by another team until Monday, Jan. 20. At that time, in-person interviews can begin with employed candidates as long as their season has ended.

Moore and the Eagles are set to square off with the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, opening his availability for a virtual interview before then. This will be the Saints’ sixth interview with a candidate for their open head coaching position. Every candidate that they have spoken to thus far has been employed by another team.

The offensive play caller has been the focus of head coach conversation since his initial success as the quarterbacks coach and then offensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys from 2018-2022. He spent the 2023 season with the Los Angeles Chargers before being dismissed along with the rest of the coaching staff as a new head coach, Jim Harbaugh, was hired.

His offense in Philadelphia has put together the leagues’ second-best rushing attack, No. 29 passing offense, No, 7 scoring offense and No. 8 total offense. He has also helped to pave the way for the revitalization of running back Saquon Barkley’s career, who eclipsed 2,000 rushing yards this season.

Moore is the third interview of this week including Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi and Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady.
