Will Wade is back in the big time.

The McNeese head coach has agreed to become the next head coach at NC State, according to multiple reports.

Wade confirmed during his media availability Wednesday that he had been in conversations with the school about its vacancy.

Wade has spent the past two seasons with McNeese, leading the Cowboys to the NCAA Tournament in both seasons. He was previously fired after five seasons at LSU following a lengthy investigation when he was caught on an FBI wiretap discussing payment for players.

Prior to his stint at LSU, Wade was the head coach at VCU and Chattanooga.

NC State was in the market for a new coach after firing Kevin Keatts less than one season after leading the Wolfpack to the Final Four.

Wade will coach the 12-seed Cowboys against 5-seed Clemson Thursday in the NCAA Tournament.
