From primetime games (or lack thereof) to road trips and rest times, everything has an impact throughout a 17-game season. Notably, here are some of the most important and effectual elements of the Saints’ 2025 schedule. It starts with a bit of disrespect from the league that could fuel the team to prove themselves.
No Primetime Games
For the first time since 2000, the Saints will not have a single primetime game on their schedule.

It’s clear that the league does not see the team as a globally appealing brand for 2025.
New Orleans joins the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans as the only teams with no primetime slots at schedule release.
However, there’s always a chance that the team proves itself better than expected and a game late in the schedule gets flexed. Until then, the Saints have effectively been labeled as uninteresting, not even receiving a Thursday night game.

No Short Weeks
The good news about a lack of primetime matchups is that the Saints will never have to play in a short week. That means a young roster won’t have to deal with rest management and can fall into a schedule all season long.
No Long Road Trips
While the Saints will have a tricky pair of weeks on the road in the third and fourth weeks, they are never away from home for too long. New Orleans will travel coast-to-coast going to Seattle in week three, followed by a game in Buffalo. However, they never play more than two consecutive games on the road.
Late Bye Week
With a week 11 bye, New Orleans has a pleasantly placed break part of the way through the year. After many years of receiving early byes and having to stomach a late run of games, the tide has shifted recently to a more advantageously placed bye. The team will also host a rivalry road game coming off the break against the Atlanta Falcons.
Los Angeles Preseason Game
With the Saints taking on the Los Angeles Chargers on the road to open the preseason, it’s likely that they will take advantage of a joint practice opportunity in the meanwhile. Head coach Kellen Moore and defensive coordinator Brandon Staley will return to SoFi Stadium after coaching the team in 2023.
Revenge Game Week Seven
One of the biggest games of the year will take place week seven when the Chicago Bears host the Saints. At that time, the Saints will face former head coach Dennis Allen and pit Moore’s offense (the coach that replaced him) head-to-head against Allen’s defense.
Barely A Cold Weather Game
New Orleans had real potential to land some treacherous cold weather games against Seattle and Buffalo. But both games landed in September. That’s a huge win for the Saints. This year, the team will spend November and December in Miami, Tampa and a domed Atlanta stadium. Not a bad way to spend the winter months. The one risk of a cold weather game comes in Week 17 as they travel to Nashville. Last year’s Week 18 game between the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans took place at Nissan Stadium in 35-degree weather. Not a bad set up for the Saints to wrap up the year weather-wise.
