NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints announced four roster moves ahead of Sunday’s Week 6 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- RB Kendre Miller has been activated from Injured Reserve.
- S Will Harris Jr. has been placed on Injured Reserve with a hamstring injury.
- S Jonathan Abram and OL Chris Reed are standard elevations from the practice squad.
Miller’s was reported earlier in the day, but how much action he sees in his potential debut is not so clear-cut. But having another ball-carrier option beyond running backs Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams is a great benefit. The team can also get Jordan Mims more involved at the position. New Orleans should have several rushing options available if all four are gameday actives.
Harris Jr. was already a candidate for Injured Reserve, so that isn’t a huge surprise. The Saints worked out four safeties during the practice week. While none have been signed to this point, there is still an open slot on the practice squad where they could be added later.
Expect Abram to start in place of Harris Jr. in most defensive packages. Although second-year safety Jordan Howden will be relied upon in specific situations as well. Reed provides some additional depth on the offensive line which has been banged up for weeks. This could be preemptive in case offensive lineman Lucas Patrick, who is set to be a gametime decision, cannot go.
