ATLANTA — The New Orleans Saints have announced one standard elevation for their game against the Atlanta Falcons. With starting center Erik McCoy and right guard Cesar Ruiz both out for the game, the Saints announced that they will elevate undrafted free agent rookie offensive lineman Kyle Hergel.

New Orleans needs options on the offensive line and Hergel was impressive throughout training camp and the preseason. He is a versatile player that can play along the interior and is one of the linemen that took snaps at center for the Saints this offseason.

Not seeing a wide receiver elevated is a good sign. The team is managing injuries for two of its top three guys at the position. Chris Olave was listed with a hamstring injury which set in during Friday’s practice. Meanwhile Cedrick Wilson Jr. is managing an ankle injury which he suffered during practice on Thursday.

Not seeing Equanimeous St. Brown elevated could mean good things for New Orleans when it comes to getting at least one of their top wideouts back along with Rashid Shaheed and rookies Bub Means and Mason Tipton.
