Saints secondary bolstered at Thursday practice
11/14/2024
METAIRIE, La – The New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns released their updated injury report on Thursday. While the Saints hold steady in terms of attendance, they do get some progress in participation. Meanwhile the Browns add a new name to their list with mid-week knee injury.
Here is the information from Thursday’s practice report:
New Orleans Saints
Did Not Participate:
LB Pete Werner (Hand)
RB Jamaal Williams (Groin)
G Lucas Patrick (Ankle)
Limited Participation:
WR Cedrick Wilson Jr. (Shoulder)
S J.T. Gray (Hip)
C Erik McCoy (Groin)
Full Participation:
CB Kool-Aid McKinstry (Hamstring)
LB Nephi Sewell (Knee)
S Jordan Howden (Shoulder)
The Saints saw two elevations in the secondary on Wednesday. Both McKinstry and Howden went from limited to full participation. That’s good news for a team looking to defend against the Browns’ strong-armed quarterback Jameis Winston.
A team source says that Patrick is no longer in a boot, which shows good progress. However, with him still not participating yet this week, it seems reasonable to expect a return after the bye week. Second-year guard Nick Saldiveri could be in line for another start against the Browns, unless Patrick progresses on Friday.
Cleveland Browns
Limited Participation:
G Joel Bitonio (Pectoral)
DT Mike Hall (Knee)
Full Participation:
LB Jordan Hicks (Elbow/Triceps)
WR Jerry Jeudy (Knee)
QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson (Right Finger)
T Jedrick Wills (Knee)
The only change for the Browns is the addition of defensive tackle Mike Hall. The big man in the middle is nursing a knee injury. He did not play for the Browns over the first five weeks of the season but has made his way on to the field over the last three weeks hovering around 40% of defensive snaps.
Otherwise, the Browns are looking healthy relative to their active roster.
