SEC fines LSU $250k for spectator sportsmanship
11/11/2024

For this second time in 2024, fan behavior has cost LSU financially.
The SEC announced Monday that LSU would be fined $250,000 for “spectator sportsmanship” as a result of the trash thrown on the field Saturday night during the game against Alabama.
LSU senior defensive end Sai’vion Jones had sacked Alabama’s Jalen Milroe on a third down play, but the play was flagged for a facemask. Officials reviewed the play and confirmed the call.
Water bottles and other debris rained from the north end of the stadium causing a brief delay.
LSU was previously fined for storming the field after defeating Ole Miss. The Rebels were fined $350,000 by the league for storming the field after beating Georgia.
