SEC owns National Signing Day again

By Chris Marler
The dust has officially settled on Early Signing Day for the 2025 Recruiting class, and the SEC dominated the day once again. Sure, there were some big gets outside of the conference like Na’eem Offord going to Oregon and Jahkeem Stewart landing at Southern Cal. But,the SEC as a whole maintained its status as the premiere conference for stockpiling blue chip talent.
The SEC landed 11 teams in the Top 20 classes including seven of the Top 10. The usual suspects remained at the top with Texas, Alabama and Georgia ranking No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4 in the country respectively. Those numbers are according to the On3 Composite Team Rankings.
Another interesting note is just how prominent and effective the early signing period has been over the last several years especially for the top talent around the country. During the first Early signing day five years ago 79 of the Top 100 players in the 247Sports Composite Player Rankings were committed or signed by the end of early signing day. Wednesday that numbers was 98.
