South Carolina’s Dylan Stewart lands seven figure NIL deal
South Carolina edge rusher Dylan Stewart will be signing with South Carolina. Again.
In what will surely become the new norm for NIL era college football offseasons, On3 reported that the true freshman and former five-star signed a deal to stay at the school he currently plays for. The deal is reported to be between $1 to $1.5 million according to Pete Nakos.
Stewart finished his freshman season with 20 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and three forced fumbles.
“I think retaining our current roster is the most important thing,” said Darren Uscher, South Carolina football’s Director of Player Personnel and Recruiting, during a recent appearance on GC Live.
While the process of re-signing and retaining the freshman All-American may seem odd or at least new. The staff in Columbia deserves a lot of credit for how well they managed the process. South Carolina and their collective initially began working through the details of this deal the first week of November.
Clearly it paid off.
