Tennessee flips 4-star back from USC

Tennessee’s Dylan Sampson has been one of the best running backs in the country this season, and on Monday Josh Heupel may have found his future replacement.
Tennessee landed a big commitment from 2025 prospect Daune Morris, flipping him from USC.
Morris had been committed to the Trojans since April. However, the Murfreesboro, TN., prospect will stay home to play for the Volunteers after a recent visit to Knoxville and Neyland Stadium.
“It is a different standard when you are an in-state recruit and you get to stay home and play for Tennessee,” Morris told On3. “Tennessee has been pushing for a while, and I have been thinking about it for a few weeks. I really knew after the Kentucky game.”
Morris is a 5-for-10, 180 lbs. running back from Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, and he holds over 30 offers. He chose the Volunteers over USC, Auburn and Colorado.
Morris is the 25th commitment in Tennessee’s 2025 class which currently ranks No. 7 nationally according to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.
