Two SEC schools partner with NIL Licensing group for video game rights

Six schools announced Wednesday that they’d be partnering with an NIL licensing group. The group is called Pathway Sports and Entertainment and their goal is to sign every player and FBS school for 2025.
The six schools that have signed up so far are Alabama, Georgia, Texas Tech, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Oregon.
It will aim to provide a better deal for each player with the video game from EA Sports that was released a year ago. Currently, they have signed 450 players to a deal that includes $1,500 for their name, image, and likeness to be included in the video game. That’s a 250% increase from what they were originally given in last year’s deal at $600 and a copy of the video game.
The deal is being spearheaded by Casey Scwab from Pathway Sports.
“Most athletic directors and most college football coaches want to support their football players in making legitimate commercial dollars,” Schwab said. “The reception so far has been excellent.”
