UGA climbs to No. 2 in AP Poll, seven SEC teams ranked

The latest AP Poll is out, and there are seven ranked teams from the SEC in the top 25 including three in the top ten.
Texas dropped two spots after their overtime loss in Atlanta to Georgia, while the Bulldogs jumped up three spots to No. 2. Tennessee was at No. 7 behind an Ohio State team that lost to unranked Michigan eight days ago at home.
Alabama stayed at No. 11, ahead of both SMU and Clemson. ACC fans were less than thrilled about the two teams pining for a playoff spot being behind three-loss Alabama. If they’re mad about that then just think about how frustrated South Carolina fans must be to be ranked behind a Clemson team they beat on the road just eight days ago.
The AP Poll has mirrored the College Football Playoff Rankings for much of the last month or so. Will that play out again? We will see. Here’s a look at the complete top 25 with the SEC teams in bold.
