Vanderbilt enters AP Top 25, Oregon new No. 1

The week nine AP Poll has been released, and at long last Vanderbilt was finally ranked following their win over Ball State and 5-2 start to the season. Eight other teams from the SEC also found themselves inside the top 25 this week including four in the top ten.
Georgia soared up to No. 2 overall after their dominating win over No. 1 Texas in Austin. The Longhorns subsequently dropped to Georgia’s old position at No. 5. LSU stayed put at No. 8 while Tennessee lept four spots to No. 7 after their dramatic fourth quarter comeback over rival Alabama.
Alabama saw the biggest fall of any SEC team as they dropped down to No. 15 overall. Their lowest ranking since the 2010 Capital One Bowl fourteen years ago. The news that drew the most excitement around the league though was clearly the Commodores cracking the rankings for the first time since the 2013 season. It’s been so long that the official poll forgot to even post their logo next to the ranking.
