Vols QB Iamaleava to play against Georiga

Tennessee confirmed that starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava will start Saturday against Georgia. Chris Low of ESPN was the first to report the news.
Iamaleava exited last week’s game against Mississippi State in the second quarter after landing hard and awkwardly on his right side. He was held out for the remainder of the game for precautionary reasons, according to head coach Josh Heupel. No further details were provided about the extent or nature of the injury.
Tennessee heads to Athens as a 9.5-point underdog against Georgia. The Volunteers have lost seven straight in the series, with the last win coming in Athens in 2016.
For the season, Iamaleava has completed 65.2 percent of his passes while piling up nearly 2,100 total yards with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions.
The Vols (8-1, 5-1) and the Bulldogs (7-2, 5-2) kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT from Sanford Stadium.
