By Chris Marler

Brace yourselves. It’s that time again. It’s time for the worst rankings you’ll see all week.

It’s my week 13 SEC quarterback rankings.

I won’t waste any time explaining the parameters or factors in the rankings. Not because I want to keep it mysterious or secretive, but because, at this point of the season, I don’t know if I even know what they are anymore.

Regardless, here are this week’s rankings for the best SEC signal callers, No.1 through No.16.

  1. Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss

Jaxson Dart had a week off, but he still leads the SEC in almost every possible metric of importance. He’s third in the country in QBR (86.2), first in passer rating (188.59) and first in yards per attempt (11.7).

During the season, he’s averaging over 370 total yards per game.. His touchdown to interception ratio is 25-to-4, and he has completed 70.8 percent of his passes. It’s Dart, a large gap, and everyone else in the SEC.

  1. LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina

I originally had Jalen Milroe at No. 2. However, Sellers has been incredible in his last five games and is arguably the best quarterback in the league against SEC competition. Sellers leads the SEC in passing touchdowns in conference games with 14 and ranks in the Top 3 in completion percentage (64.9 percent), yards per pass attempt (8.7), and passer rating (156.74).

He has 13 touchdowns and two interceptions over his last five games. His 353 yards passing against Missouri were the second most allowed by the Tigers in the previous five years, and his five touchdown passes were the most Missouri has allowed in at least the last nine years. He has been outstanding down the stretch.

  1. Jalen Milroe, Alabama

Milroe is at his best in the last month of the season. In six November games over the previous two seasons, he scored 22 touchdowns while throwing just one interception. He ranks fifth in the country in QBR at 85.3 and has 32 touchdowns.

He hasn’t thrown one in three straight games since throwing two interceptions in back-to-back games against Tennessee and South Carolina.

  1. Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt

Pavia has been one of the league’s most consistent and efficient quarterbacks this year. The Commodore signal caller has accounted for 20 touchdowns and just three interceptions on the season, and he’s also been responsible for over 70 percent of Vanderbilt’s offensive production.

  1. Quinn Ewers, Texas

Ewers was very efficient against Arkansas. He finished with just 5.5 yards per attempt, but he threw for two touchdowns and had zero turnovers for the second consecutive game. Ewers ranks second in the SEC in completion percentage at 66.1 percent against conference opponents.

  1. Carson Beck, Georgia

That’s the Carson Beck we thought we would see in the 2024 season. Beck was awesome against Tennessee. The offense looked like the same offense that have led Georgia to the national title in two of the last three seasons. Beck threw for 347 yards against one of the best defenses in the country. He hit 10 different receivers on the night, and the tight ends re-emerged, combining for ten receptions, 130 yards and two touchdowns.

As bad as Beck has been at times, he is still third in QBR for SEC quarterbacks at 80.5 and, despite facing the toughest schedule in the country, has Georgia back in the projected 12-team College Football Playoff.

  1. Marcel Reed, Texas A&M

Marcel Reed remains one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the league, and his ceiling only gets higher every time he plays. Reed had 309 yards of offense and three touchdowns. Watching Reed versus Texas in a few weeks will be a must-see television event.

  1. Payton Thorne, Auburn

In his last three games, Thorne has completed 71.3 percent of his passes with over eight yards per attempt, seven touchdowns, and just one interception. He threw for a career-high five touchdowns on Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe, and he hasn’t thrown an interception in four of his last five games. Auburn is still dangerous, and since they finally got Jarquez Hunter and the run game going, it’s helped Thorne and freshman wide receiver Cam Coleman emerge.

  1. Brady Cook, Missouri

Brady Cook is damn gutsy. He was announced as the starter shortly before kickoff against South Carolina.  Then he completed over 67 percent of his passes for 237 yards and almost a game-winning touchdown to Luther Burden III with less than a minute to go on fourth down. When Cook is healthy, this team can compete.

  1. Taylen Green, Arkansas

Green is still one of the most physically gifted quarterbacks in the entire country. However, it’s painstakingly clear that he still hasn’t learned how to protect the football at this point of the season. He only had one interception against Texas, but it came on 2nd-and-1 with a man open in the flat for the first down. Instead, Green threw into triple coverage, and the ball was tipped to a Texas defender for an interception. Texas went on to score a few plays later.

The Bottom 6

  1. Nico Iamaleava, Tennessee
  2. DJ Lagway, Florida
  3. Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
  4. Michael van Buren, Mississippi State
  5. Brock Vandagriff, Kentucky
  6. Jackson Arnold, Oklahoma
