Ole Miss landed another player from the December transfer portal window, as defensive back Kapena Gushiken from Washington State committed to the Rebels, according to On3.
Gushiken played two seasons in Pullman for the Cougars. In those two seasons, he racked up 88 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and three interceptions. He is the latest to use the new JUCO eligibility rule that Diego Pavia fought for and was subsequently granted by the NCAA.
Gushiken was a three star recruit out of Hawaii in high school and is the No. 272 ranked player in the transfer portal according to On3. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
