Tennessee is expected to promote Levorn Harbin to fill its special teams coordinator and linebackers coach vacancy, replacing Mike Ekeler, who departed for Nebraska last week.
Harbin isn’t too well known in the coaching community yet, but he has been one of the highest-paid off-field coaches and analysts in the SEC. Last season, he earned $325,000 as an analyst under head coach Josh Heupel.
Before joining Tennessee, Harbin served as an assistant defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Auburn, working alongside SEC coaching legend Rodney Garner. He also spent three seasons at Louisiana, assisting with the defensive line and defensive tackles.
Harbin’s promotion reflects his growing reputation within the program, as Tennessee opts for continuity to maintain stability on its coaching staff.
