For weeks we heard rumors that the Saints were going to take an EDGE rusher like Mykel Williams, an offensive weapon like Tet McMillan or Tyler Warren, or do the unthinkable and draft a quarterback in the first round for the first time since 1971.
In the end, they made one of the most sensible, albeit least sexy picks, they could have in landing offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr.
Here’s what social media had to say about the pick.
Kelvin Banks checks all of the boxes the Saints look for in a top 10 pick. He should start from Day One and will be the Saints’ most athletic offensive lineman since Terron Armstead.

“Welcome to the 714th round of the NFL Draft sponsored by Geico. Mel, how do you Shedeur Sanders could factor here for the Saints.”
“I think he’s a steal, Greeny.”
