T-Bob Hebert accepts position with Barstool Sports, leaving Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La – T-Bob Hebert, the wildly popular host of Off the Bench on 104.5 ESPN Baton Rouge, has accepted a position with Barstool Sports, ending his eight-year run hosting mornings in Baton Rouge. Hebert will relocate to work out of Barstool’s Chicago office. His final day on air in Baton Rouge will be Friday, May 16.

In reflecting on his time in Louisiana radio and his departure from 104.5 ESPN, Hebert shared the following message of gratitude and farewell:

“I am so grateful for the 18 years I have spent here in Louisiana. I want to thank everyone I’ve ever worked with on Off the Bench and all of its amazing iterations. Special thanks to Rivers, Taylor, Alondra, Danny, Nathan, Mario, Jordy, and everyone else.

I want to thank Dianne Newman and WWL for giving me an opportunity I did not deserve. I want to thank Guaranty for bringing me in and allowing me to host the morning show.

I want to thank Matt Moscona for bringing me into the realm of Whiskey and Wine and giving me memories and friendships that I will cherish until the day I die. I want to thank Jake Hester for joining me in my time of need and pushing OTB up to the seventh-ranked mid-market local morning sports talk show!

Finally, I want to thank every single person who has chosen to spend their time with us these last few years. I know our time is precious, and I do not take for granted all those who spent so many mornings laughing and talking with us through the years.”

Hebert is originally from Georgia but played football at LSU from 2007-2011. After joining the St. Louis Rams for training camp in 2012, Hebert traded his cleats for a microphone.

After joining Guaranty Media as an account executive, he moved to New Orleans to pursue his on-air dreams. Hebert hosted mornings on WWL before moving to nights on The Big 870 WWL.

T-Bob is the son of former NFL quarterback and longtime New Orleans radio host Bobby Hebert.

The opportunity to return to Baton Rouge came in 2017 as co-host of the 104.5 ESPN Baton Rouge morning show. Alongside Jordy Culotta, Off the Bench began its rise in popularity. After Culotta’s departure in 2021, Hebert paired with another LSU legend, Jacob Hester, who joined the morning show.

Off the Bench with Hester and T-Bob has become one of the most awarded sports talk shows in the country. The duo was named the Best Sports Talk Show by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters in 2022. They were also recognized by Barrett Sports Media as a Top 20 mid-market morning show from 2019-2024. The show also ran in syndication in New Orleans, Alexandria and Shreveport.

Rivers Hughey, former Off the Bench producer and current Digital Media Director for LouisianaSports.net, shared the following reflection on Hebert’s departure:

“T-Bob has been more than a co-worker to me, he’s been a teammate, a mentor, and a friend. From the chaos of those early mornings to the proud moment I got to voice his LAB Young Professional of the Year nomination, I’ve had a front-row seat to his evolution as a broadcaster and a person. Watching him grow into this next chapter is bittersweet, but there’s no doubt he’s built for big stages. Chicago is lucky. And wherever he goes, I know he’ll be bringing the takes, the laughter, and of course, reading the tea leaves.”

The LAB recognized Hebert as the Young Professional of the Year in 2024.

Amid his run at Guaranty, national doors continued to open. Hebert was hired by Colin Cowherd to join The Volume where he teamed with former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray to host Snaps. He also worked with former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron for Stadium Sports, co-hosting Rivals Down South.

Recently, Hebert joined Jim Rome of The After Hour weekdays on the Jim Rome FAST Channel.

“I’m thrilled for T-Bob,” said 104.5 ESPN Program Director Matt Moscona. “He is authentic to the core and that it what makes him a unique talent. He made our radio station better and I’m forever grateful for that. Barstool’s gain is our loss. I’m going to miss him.”

Hebert and his wife Caitlin have three children, Alice, Odette and Bobby.

Hester will continue his role on Off the Bench, and the station will announce a new co-host soon.
