LSU added some power to its 2026 lineup on Tuesday.
Slugging first baseman Zach Yorke announced he would transfer from Grand Canyon to LSU. Yorke has posted excellent numbers for the Lopes over three seasons, hitting .328 with 32 home runs. Thirteen of those came in 2025 when he started 48 games.

Yorke is a big guy. He’s 6-foot-2 and check in just south of 300 lbs., but he swings the bat left-handed with some thump.
LSU used a handful of lower-level transfers to capture national title No. 8 this season. Daniel Dickinson (Utah Valley), Anthony Eyanson (UC-San Diego), Zac Cowan (Wofford) and Luis Hernandez (Indiana State) all played major roles by adapted seamlessly to SEC play.
Yorke figures to battle for playing time at first base and designated hitter with Seth Dardar, Brayden Simpson, John Pearson, Mason Braun and others.
