Josh Pearson’s final at bat at Alex Box Stadium spurred a standing ovation.
That doesn’t happen much at LSU unless an All-American or future first round pick digs in one last time. Pearson never accomplished either of those. He does leave LSU as a two-time national champion and fan favorite for his four years of service.
Tuesday, he took the time to thank his support system, LSU’s program and its fans.

Pearson was a three-time all-regional team selection. He hit six NCAA Tournament home runs including two in the 2023 College World Series and a grand slam in the 2025 Super Regional against West Virginia.
He finished his career with a .399 on base percentage and 27 home runs.
Perhaps Pearson’s most important contribution was his leaping catch in left field to Florida’s Wyatt Langford of what would have been a walk off hit in Game 1 of the 2023 CWS final.
Pearson was not draft in the 20-round MLB Draft earlier this month. His head coach Jay Johnson took to social media to send off “one of the most important players of my entire coaching career.”
One of the most important players of my entire coaching career. Clutch gene like no other, so many big hits. Elite teammate, 2x National Champion, Winner! Thank you JP! 4 years of ultimate reliability. Hard to picture LSU Baseball without you! 💜 https://t.co/RfdWPkfRh6
