LSU will begin Florida preparation without a pair of offensive starters.
Center Braelin Moore and tight end Trey’Dez Green both left Saturday’s win over Louisiana Tech and did not return. Brian Kelly said postgame that both would get an MRI on Sunday.
Moore was rolled up on during LSU’s first offensive snap. X-rays were negative on his left ankle, but multiple sources told LouisianaSports.net that the injury is a high ankle sprain.
Moore is likely to miss the game against Florida. With Southeastern Louisiana to follow, the trip to Ole Miss on September 27 could be a target return for the reigning SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week.
Green was also rolled up on. His right knee was evaluated, and he returned to the sideline on crutches with a brace. The sources suggested that Green’s injury does not appear to be season-ending, but the 6-foot-7 tight end is expected to miss multiple weeks. An MRI will make the timetable clearer.
Moore and Green were massive contributors in the season-opening win over Clemson. LSU will have to replace their production in the coming weeks.
