A new video has been released containing evidence in the fatal collision resulting in Kyren Lacy’s arrest.
Louisiana State Police released an 11-minute video including surveillance footage, body camera footage, multiple written statements and a crash report.
Video footage shows Lacy at a high rate of speed illegally passing four vehicles in the southbound lane of LA Hwy 20 seconds before the fatal crash involving a KIA Cadenza and KIA Sorrento. That maneuver, according to LSP, triggered a series of events that resulted in the crash. Lacy was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit and run, and reckless operation of a vehicle.
An eyewitness in the video identifies Lacy’s green Dodge Charger as the cause of the incident and relays that to law enforcement at the scene.
The video also reveals that the driver of the Kia Cadenza was initially issued a citation for “following too close,” but that was later amended to “driving left of center”.
