Tigers nab talented North Carolina prospect Jacob Seamon

Jay Johnson hunts down left-handed hitting.

On Wednesday he nabbed a commitment from power-hitting prospect Jacob Seamon from North Carolina for the class of 2027.

Seamon is already 6-foot-5 as a high school junior. He’s an elite athlete with great speed to pair with his growing power. He’s a right-handed thrower who has played some infield but likely projects to the outfield because of his length and speed.

Seamon is considered a draft risk, and he would not be a draft-eligible sophomore as he is young for his class.

LSU begins fall baseball practice on Thursday.
