CHICAGO, Ill. — Two injuries have the New Orleans Saints and their fans biting their nails after the team’s 26-14 loss to the Chicago Bears.
During the contest, both running back Kendre Miller and starting center Erik McCoy left the game after being checked for injury. Miller left with a knee issue while McCoy was ruled out with a bicep injury.
Both players have battled injuries in recent seasons, and that trend may have unfortunately continued on Sunday. Saints head coach Kellen Moore didn’t sound particularly optimistic about either player’s outlook after the game.
“Yeah, both guys, there’s some concern there,” Moore said during his postgame media availability. There’s concern for both guys. We’ll see how it goes. Obviously, the tests will confirm it tomorrow. Both (of) those guys came out and were not able to come back and so we’ll hope for the best. But, might be a concern for us moving forward.”
When asked for more information on McCoy’s injury in particular, Moore shared the view of a possible bicep tear, which could mean a long absence for the Saints’ offensive line stalwart.
Kellen Moore said “there’s concern” regarding McCoy and Miller’s injuries. I asked if there’s fear about a tear with McCoy and Moore seemed to indicate that was one of the concerns regarding the bicep/elbow injury

New Orleans was without McCoy for a large share of games last year, an absence that was often credited for beginning the team’s seven-game skid. The team may be in for another long period without its best performing offensive linemen and without one of its most trusted leaders.
