The concerns of the New Orleans Saints are now confirmed. Starting center Erik McCoy is expected to miss the remainder of the 2025 season, per multiple reports.
Reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill, the Saints’ center suffered a biceps tear that will end his season after just seven games.

This is the second consecutive year in which McCoy will appear in just seven games after a groin injury kept him sidelined for the bulk of the 2024 season.
Rapoport also reports that McCoy will undergo surgery for the injury. That procedure is scheduled for this week.

The Saints will now turn to veteran offensive lineman Luke Fortner at center. Fortner was acquired via a preseason trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
After the team’s Week 7 loss to the Chicago Bears, Saints head coach Kellen Moore expressed concern around McCoy’s injury as well as running back Kendre Miller. Unfortunately for New Orleans, those concerns turned out to be warranted.
