Florida has reportedly been in pursuit of Kiffin for weeks, but LSU has recently entered the mix for the Ole Miss coach’s services. Kiffin’s ex-wife Layla Kiffin and the couple’s son Knox were in Gainesville this weekend touring the area ahead of Lane’s decision.
Layla Kiffin is the daughter of former Florida quarterback John Reaves and graduated from Florida in 1996.
Sumrall, 43, is in his second season as Tulane’s head coach. He managed a 23-4 record at Troy over two seasons prior to taking the job in New Orleans.
Auburn has also shown interest in Sumrall for its coaching vacancy.
