Lane Kiffin wasn’t on the sideline in Oxford on Saturday, but he still got paid.
As part of LSU’s agreement with Kiffin to become the Tigers’ head coach, LSU will pay the former Rebel boss his College Football Playoff bonuses as Ole Miss advances.
Kiffin received $150,000 for Ole Miss’s appearance, and after the Rebels smoked Tulane 41-10, he’s now in line for $250,000 due to the berth in the quarterfinals.
Should Ole Miss beat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl and eventually win a national title, Kiffin would be entitled to $1 million from LSU.
Kiffin will want his offensive assistants to join him in Baton Rouge, especially as the transfer portal opening approaches. But the longer they coach in the CFP, the more he gets paid.
