After finishing fourth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting in 2021, Olave had not yet received a post-season honor. However, his 2025 season was undeniable.
He finished the year with 100 receptions, 1,163 receiving yards and nine touchdown catches. Olave became only the second player in franchise history to cross the century mark in single-season catches and finished one touchdown reception shy of the Saints’ first ever 100/1,000/10 season.
The former Ohio State receiver finished top-10 in multiple receiving categories across the NFL. He finished No. 8 in receiving yards, No. 7 in receptions and T-No. 8 in touchdown catches. He was also No. 6 in targets at his position, all career-highs.
He joins fellow Second-Team All-Pro wide receivers George Pickens of the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions pass-catcher Amon-Ra St. Brown.
The All-Pro First-Team is made up of Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua, Seattle Seahawks star Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Olave is going into the offseason eligible for an extension. After such a strong season, and now one of the league’s top honors, his contract talks may begin to heat up.
The wideout shared after the Saints’ final home game that he contemplated retirement after the 2024 offseason which was marred by head injuries. Instead, he returned to the game and put up career-highs across the board working with a pair of young quarterbacks in second-year passer Spencer Rattler and rookie quarterback Tyler Shough.
Olave and Shough finished the year strong, connecting for 115.7 yards per game in their final three contests together against defenses that knew Olave would be the focus of the passing game.
Now, with a Second-Team All-Pro nod in his corner, Olave and his camp can continue extension talks and prepare to build on his success from 2025 upon the team’s return in 2026.
