The New Orleans Saints have been anything but shy about the prospects they are interested in this NFL Draft cycle. Unless the team is playing a mastermind-level game of smoke and mirrors, its desire for wide receiver and offensive line help is perhaps the process’s worst-kept secret outside of the No. 1 overall pick.
One of those interests, adding to the offensive line, just saw its newest hint on Monday.
Per NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, the Saints will host Auburn lineman Jeremiah Wright on Tuesday. The visit follows a private dinner Monday night.
Weight, who stands at 6-foot-5 and tips the scales at 331 pounds, was also a standout participant in this year’s Senior Bowl week, at which the Saints were well represented.
Wright was credited with surrendering 22 pressures and five sacks last year, but only gave up four sacks combined over the previous three seasons.
He’s a strong, physical presence that matches the successful build of Kellen Moore’s Philadelphia Eagles offensive line in 2024. The right guard spot is still occupied by 2020 first-round selection Cesar Ruiz, who is entering the final year with guaranteed money on his contract.
Ruiz, who was mentioned by Saints general manager Mickey Loomis unprompted during the team’s end of year press conference as a player that the team has “got to get more out of,” expressed a need to prove himself in 2026 during a recent podcast appearance.
“I’ve got something to prove,” Ruiz said on Terron Armstead’s The Set. “Not only to people watching, but to myself.”
As the Saints continue to research possible investments for depth and potential competition along the trenches, Ruiz’s sentiment could become even more important following the draft.
